An engineer by trade turned entrepreneur by fate. A philanthropist at heart. Passionate and experienced (>10 years) in building and growing tech-enabled ventures, sometimes by transforming an unscalable conventional business into one. Started learning programming (QBasic) at 9 and have always been passionate about technology and innovation since then. At 15, dreamed of starting his own software development company, called NeoSoft (inspired by the movie, The Matrix).
Earned a BSc. in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University in 2008. Began his career at Nexon Canada as a Game Programmer. A year later, recruited by Ericsson as Platform Software Designer for their award-winning SmartEdge router. In 2010, during a summer vacation, made a life-changing decision to quit his steady job and moved back to Indonesia for good, marking the beginning of his journey as an entrepreneur philanthropist.
Seeing the opportunities and believing it was the right moment for the tech industry in Indonesia, co-founded PhaseDev, a software development house along with 2 partners, employing just a handful of interns at the beginning. Within a year, emerged as Indonesia’s leading apps development studio with over 30 full-time engineers, most were the top coders in the regional programming competition (proud of it because we started this trend in Indonesia, which was adopted by many others!)
As the CTO of PhaseDev, was mainly responsible for managing several cross-functional teams within the product-centric organization. And within 2 years, under his leadership, the company successfully developed and launched multiple award-winning products such as Wayang, Bouncity, and Tiket.com. Fueled by his passion in game development, created Artoncode, an indie game studio that produced educational games, such as Faunia Rancher, Faunia Paw, and Harmoni, to name a few.
Came under the spotlight in 2012 when Bouncity was acquired by Midplaza Holdings. Joining as the CTO of the merged entity, Qeon, his task was to integrate Bouncity’s LBS platform and tech team into Qeon’s ecosystem, which launched in 2014 as Qpocket, Indonesia’s first social gaming platform. Decided to leave afterward to build his legacy as a technopreneur and founded shift, a tech venture builder behind Fitnesia, CROWDE, Sumber, and Trimegah eLearning.
Currently focusing on his role as the CEO of bamms, a prop-tech that embeds digital experience into residential, commercial, and office buildings to create Smart, Safe, Serviceable, and Sustainable Space for property owners, tenants, and managers. On top of that, he sits as the Chairman of DVASA HOLDING, an investment holding company that envisions smart, safe, sustainable, and socially-responsible society by the means of digital transformation and technological innovation.
Outside of working his life-long objective in progressing Indonesia’s socio-economic development, he loves to spend some time traveling, reading, playing poker, and enjoying his favorite sports: Basketball, diving, skating, and snowboarding.
